Welcome to the UNICORN (UNderstanding Identity and the COntinuance of Roles and Norms) lab website! In our lab, the social psychological processes that influence tendencies to categorize others in line with different categorization systems. We study questions such as: (1) Which motivations and belief systems guide either support for or opposition to specific systems of social categorization? (2) What are the mechanisms through which these systems of social categorization are sustained or revised?
